      Needs Assessment

      Description

      Modify the error that appears when you get a timeout connecting with WinRM.

      Current:

        Timeout after 10 seconds connecting to https://gr1m8dae76uogns.delivery.puppetlabs.net:5986/wsman
        Use --no-ssl if this host isn't configured to use SSL for WinRM

      Proposed:

        Timeout after 10 seconds connecting to https://gr1m8dae76uogns.delivery.puppetlabs.net:5986/wsman
        Verify that required WinRM ports are open, or use --no-ssl if this host isn't configured to use SSL for WinRM.

      --------------- (original ticket description below this line) ---------------

      Hi,

      Bolt needs WinRM port to be working on the Windows Server. It is a pre-req.

      For private & public cloud users, we must provide that tip that they need to execute 'Enable-PSRemoting' or 'winrm quickconfig -force' as part of the VM initialization step.

      For example, for EC2-Windows VMs, one of the commands above, needs to be part of the user-data option.

      An example of how to add it to the 'user-data' option is in the Puppet SE maintained 'awskit': https://github.com/puppetlabs-seteam/awskit/blob/master/data/common.yaml

      In the above file, the relevant part is this:

      awskit::create_windows_node::user_data: |
      <powershell>
      $hosts = "$env:windir\System32\drivers\etc\hosts"
      ...

      winrm quickconfig -force
      </powershell>

      Please add this note in the right slot in our Bolt docs.
