Description
The install directory was originally C:\Chocolatey, so when the Chocolatey installation script sees that, Chocolatey believes it is upgrading from that location. This behavior started in 0.9.9.x. If someone wants to keep this location, they have some additional configuration they need to do.
We need to document this at https://forge.puppet.com/puppetlabs/chocolatey#choco_install_location plus options as noted in details below.
Details
When you run into this you have two options:
- Either specify a different location for install
- Set an environment variable to allow for that directory to be installed to. The environment variable is ChocolateyAllowInsecureRootDirectory and it needs to be set to true.
