      Description

There are two names for a forge module that are occasionally used inconsistently in puppet.
      1. The module name with a namespace which is stored in metadata.json and used when requesting modules from forge and checking dependencies during installation.
      2. The name of the directory into which a module is installed which does not contain the namespace. This is the only name which the autoloader will look for.(see PE-3015)

With PUP-3124 pmt will not longer create incorrectly named module directories and should be able to safely constrain all directory name checks to un-namespaced name.

      Inconsistencies:

      • assert_validity in lib/puppet/module.rb checks both directory and namespaced name. This is required for spec tests but may not be wrong.
