    • Release Notes Summary:
The Tidy resource would apply to all files that it found, even when the files where managed by puppet. The Tidy resource now skips any files that are managed by Puppet when deciding if files should be removed by Tidy.

We have a case where there are managed and unmanaged files in a single directory. We would like to remove all the files in that directory following a set pattern that aren't managed.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do this, we have two resources available:

      • Tidy - this supports a way to explicitly remove files that follow a pattern but does not support a way to only remove unmanaged resources
      • File - this supports a way to remove unmanaged resources, but only provides an 'ignore' option which doesn't really support negation

The request is to either add a 'purge' option to tidy or to merge tidy/File resources together and give us all the capabilities in one resource.
