      Bug Fix
    • Release Notes Summary:
The data types Puppet::LookupKey and Puppet::LookupValue used to describe the values allowed as keys and values in hiera 5 were not reachable from the puppet language. This is now fixed.
    • QA Risk Assessment:
      No Action

      Description

Pre-docs for hiera 5 stated that backend functions can use Puppet::LookupKey and Puppet::LookupValue to validate arguments and return types. This is false. If you try to use them in a function signature, you get:

Error: Could not run: Lookup of key 'lookup_options' failed: value returned from function 'yaml_data' has wrong type, references an unresolved type 'Puppet::LookupKey'

Per the pre-docs, these types should be available for use. Alternately, maybe they aren't needed?
