    Description

      The following code snippet generates 48 event messages every day (per node) with the default run interval. 47 of the events are a "skipped" event and one being a success:

      schedule { 'allowed_hours':
        period => daily,
        range => "5:00 - 17:00",
        repeat => 1,
      }

      exec { 'do something':
        command => '/usr/local/scripts/do_something.sh',
        schedule => 'allowed_hours',
      }

      For installations with high node counts this generates enough events that the postgres / puppetdb backend needs manual intervention to clean up the "resource_events" table. Otherwise, the events viewer loads very slowly or times out.

      The schedule metaparameter should be configurable so that the skipped resources do not create an event.
