Puppet now supports "scripting" when used with Bolt to run tasks and plans. "Scripting" is a subset of the puppet language that does not include expressions/statements that deal with resources and a catalog. This subset of the language is available to Bolt, by using {{puppet script}}, and via an API known as PAL (Puppet As-a Library).
