To be consistent with existing package provider under OS X, i.e. appdmg, or pkgdmg. I would be nice to have the 'apple' package provider create the same 'cookie' under var/db/.puppet_* that is created after the application is installed successfully and thus no longer installed when the script is triggered.

Additionally, it would also be nice to have the provider support source URIs and do the same CURL request for remote pkg files as appdmg or pkgdmg do.

While this could be created manually on the part of the developer it makes the puppet code a bit more ugly and messy. It would be nice if the provider just did this by default.
