 Description

This would allow the ability to specify a runas (borrowing a Windows term) to have a resource applied as a different user. This would be helpful in cases where you want to do most things under a particular user context but a few resources would be applied under a different user context. This also opens the doors for quite a few things. This could be good or bad, because it does make things a bit more complex.

David Lutterkort, this is something we're not likely to do anytime soon in Puppet, but may be worth considering in the libral design.

Yes, agreed .. probably a little farther down the road, but definitely something in the back of my mind

Thank you for filing this issue. We agree it is likely an improvement, but due to other issues demanding precedence, we don’t anticipate being able to address this any time soon. As such we are closing this as “Won’t Fix.” We may revisit it at a later time, and if so will re-open this ticket.
